Where does our Organic Agave Inulin come from?

Our wholesale bulk blue Agave inulin powder is extracted from the Agave plant, which is found in Jalisco region in Mexico. The plant has been used for hundreds of years by locals as a sweetener for foods and drinks. The Agave plant does not require any fertilizer or irrigation system in order to grow it. Therefore, organic blue agave grows naturally very easily where other types of crop cannot.

Farmers, also known as the Jimadors, grow the agave plant to maturity for a period of 7 to 10 years. When it is harvested, its leaves are cut off and only the body is extracted, known locally as “the piña”. The juice obtained from it, containing a high dose of inulin, is then finely filtered using mechanical methods in order to remove any solid fibers, which helps release the inulin. Afterwards, the dilute agave inulin nectar goes through a hydrolysis process, obtaining as a final result the organic agave inulin powder.

It has also been shown that agave inulin powder can help decrease cholesterol levels and increase the absorption of various nutrients, such as calcium and magnesium.

On top of that, inulin is known to be a super fiber, acting at the same time as a prebiotic. It stimulates the growth of good bacteria in the intestine and colon, which assists in the prevention of bowel diseases. Moreover, the saponins contained in the agave plant are known for their anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, thus making this product a great booster for the immune system.
